Throughout our lives, we are inundated with printed images—advertisements, menus, brochures, junk mail, clothing tags, magazines, newspapers, posters, and propaganda of all kinds.
Most of this material is easily discarded, deemed unworthy of our attention.
Ten Thousand Cuts is an art project that rescues and reinterprets these printed images through collage.
Sourced from a decades-old and ever-growing collection of printed materials, the project explores how images come to be, the ideas they want to express, the ideas they do express and the weight of every printed image that has come before.
